Solar Walk™ Free - Planets of the Solar System 2.3.2

Explore the most beautiful and the most famous planet in our solar system
You can stop wondering how the planets in our solar system look and how they move. You don’t need an astronaut license to hover on top of them, and you can even check out their moons up close, all with Vito Technology’s awesome Solar Walk app.

Despite being limited to just exploring Saturn and its moon system, Solar Walk Free is more than just a simple demo app. There’s such a wealth of information inside the free version alone that you won’t feel rushed to spring for the full version.

A visual treat

There are few apps that look as spectacular as Solar Walk. What can be more beautiful than a realistic rendition of the solar system with Saturn front and center? The graphics are crisp and the menus are designed in such a way that they will not obstruct your observation or fragment your audio-visual experience.

In addition to the awesome 3D model of the solar system, Solar Walk Free also includes a gallery of photos (most of them real) depicting Saturn in various positions and at various distances away from the probe’s camera. In some photos you can actually see some of its biggest moons, such as Titan and Rhea. The menus are really well designed not to obstruct the view.

All about Saturn, its rings and its moons

One of Vito’s many educational apps, Solar Walk Free gives you a tour of Saturn and its awesome rings, along with all its surrounding moons. It’s not just pretty pictures either. The planet and its moons move just like they do in space, and you can even speed up time to see how they’ll be positioned in, say, two weeks from now.

You can zoom in on saturn using pinch gestures and look at its rings up close. Pick any one of its moons and check those out up close as well. Every object has an “i” sign. Tap it and a wealth of information about that object is displayed.

You can send the UI spinning and let yourself be immersed by the soundscape. If you’re a fan of Star Trek, this thing will take you back 100%.

Free version

The free version is more than enough to give you an idea of what Solar Walk is all about. The awesome graphics, the soundscape and the invaluable knowledge that comes from this free demo is worthy of everyone’s attention. While it does include multiple in-app purchases, including one that unlocks the entire Cosmos, all of them are rightfully priced at just a few bucks / euros.
