Recipe, Menu & Cooking Planner 2.7
Recipe, Menu & Cooking Planner is an app that is designed for what the devs call “serious cooks.” It is tightly tied to the Pepperplate site that allows users to “steal” recipes from various other sites, including Allrecipes.com, the New York Times, Martha Stewart, Food Network and so on. Basically, you can just grab the recipe link, paste it to the site and get the app’s details imported to your own list.
There’s also the alternative of creating a recipe manually, by either typing things or copy-pasting it all in there.
Pepperless ties
So, the Recipe, Menu & Cooking Planner app serves this site. You’ll have to log in to your account or create one so you can sync all the data. The interface is quite simple to use and it doesn’t require any special skills to figure out.
The side menu, which is accessible via the hamburger button on the top left corner, gives you access to recipes, menus, the meal planner, and the shopping list.
In the Recipes tab you’ll find all those you’ve saved there. There’s also a way to add the recipes on your own if you so desire. Since your collection is likely to grow quite easily, you can have them sorted by title or last modification time. Some filters are available too, allowing you to pick these by category or source.
All recipes you saved there can be edited at any time, even if that means adding them to a category or to the favorite list. There’s also a way to share them to Facebook or Twitter, as well as via email. The ingredients can be added to the shopping list and the recipe to the meal planner for a specific day.
The meal planner section lets you check out the next few days. Those that have any entries will be marked up with a dot, indicating how many recipes have been added there.
There are some additional buttons in the side menu, including one for Timers. This will allow you to connect to iPad cooking timers over your wifi network and control them in this manner.
Make adjustments
The Settings area allows you to enable and disable automatic synchronization and the sync frequency to 15, 30 or 1 hour. If you want to override the setting, you can do this by having the process done right then.
If you have any timers set, you can adjust the alert sound and timer volume from the same location.
So, if you’re a Pepperplate user, make sure to have this app installed on your phone since it will make things a lot easier.
