Having a way to track the things you’re going through when you become pregnant can be extremely useful so you don’t stress out your doctor with calls all around the clock. After all, while new things will be happening to you and your body, not all are worth panicking over, even though you may feel like that sometimes.

Pregnancy Smiles is an iOS app that strives to bring you all the information you need. Much like all similar tools, this one will ask for a few details before getting things started. For instance, you’ll be able to type in your name, say whether you are the mom-to-be or whether you’re a family member that simply wants to be in the know about what’s about to happen both with the baby’s development and the mother’s health.

Add some info

If you know the baby’s gender, that will also be a welcomed addition, along with the estimated due date, based on which the app will calculate your pregnancy status. The app allows you to decide whether to express the baby’s measurements and so on in the imperial or metric systems.

Up next, you can read various pieces of advice. For instance, when it’s best to call a doctor and when you shouldn’t panic, what the signs of labour are and what to eat, just to name a few.

The app comes packed with a few tools, such as the size visualizer, the famous system allowing you to better understand how big your baby is by comparing its size to that of a fruit or vegetable. Several other features, such as the contraction timer, and kick counter are locked behind a paywall. All data about the baby’s growth and the mother’s development is also blocked beyond week 14.

Diary entries

While this app won’t ask for you to log in your height, weight and so on, it will allow you to jot down some diary entries, explaining your mood and whatever else you went through over the day. You may also take pictures of your belly and add them to the app so you can keep track of your development

All in all, this is a nice app, but we’ve seen better, more complex tools that will take into consideration plenty more details, at the same time helping you keep track of your symptoms in a more accurate manner. You should, however, give this app a try and see if you find it useful or if you’d rather keep on looking.
