Paiir 1.0
So, if we do this while on a computer, why not do the same when we’re on our phones? Paiir is an app that wants to help out in this regard, mixing together several ideas. At its core, the app is a collaborative photo sharing tool trying to get people to mix their photos together. We’ll get to the “how” part of the operation in a minute.
Go through the tutorial
To start things off, Paiir has a nice interface that’s very easy to figure out, which means that you should have no troubles navigating it all. As you launch the app, you’ll get a quick run-through, explaining what Paiir is all about.
Basically, in this app, it takes two people to create a single photograph. One will post the first half of the picture, while the other will post the other half. The challenge is to find something witty to complete it with, something related and funny or artistic.
There is a lot of potential for having fun with this app since there are plenty of great pictures out there. You’ll need to follow random people so you can actually get content in your feed. This can be done by tapping the plus button at the bottom right and tapping on the topmost button. It’s possible to either look for your friends on Facebook or pick out people from the suggested users list.
The annoying part about this is that you can swipe them to the right to reveal the follow button, but you’ll have to actually tap it to add them to the list. If you select more than one user and tap on a single button, the rest will be deselected. It’s obvious the entire process needs some simplification and a way to follow people in groups.
Complement others' work
Once you have a few users in your list, you can swipe through the pictures they’ve uploaded and try to take a picture to complement them. Once the snap is ready, there are plenty of editing features, including the possibility to add text, effects, to draw, change the orientation, crop, enhance, add stickers, a vignette, change the focus, color, lighting, sharpness and so on. You can even remove red eyes, and blemishes.
All in all, I found Paiir to be a fun app to use. If you have an artistic bone in your body, then this is certainly an app that you could have some fun with.
