If you’re a fan of nature and, more specifically of the animals that live all around us, then you’re probably a big fan of National Geographic, the place where you can watch wild creatures on video and learn more about their habits, their environment and so on.

Nat Geo Fan is an app that was built for all those who often forget to change the channel away from the famous TV station, enjoying show after show.
The app lets you check out spotlighted shows, the day’s schedule on National Geographic, as well as various other details about cool stuff on the station, including about top shows, engineering, wildlife, travel, history and so on.

Easy as pie

The app’s interface is divided into several panels that you can swipe between. The first serves as a home page of sorts, while the second gives you a rundown of the shows. As you tap on any of the categories, you’ll discover the shows that fit into that category, such as “Titanic: The Final Secret” on Science, or “Lost World Underwater” on Natural History.

The following tab focuses on the schedule of the local version of National Geographic broadcasting in your area. In order to get the right information, you’ll have to pick the country of residence when you launch the app, which can be easily done with the help of a small wheel.

Additional content can be checked out from the following tabs, including cool videos that you’ll love, as well as incredible images under the “Photo of the day” tab. These come with a short description where you can find out more about the scene before your eyes and the impressive creatures captured by the camera.

The last tab is dedicated to the Fan Zone, which includes polls, quizzes and news about various topics that are among fans’ favorites, such as aliens and sharks.

Shortcuts

The side menu, which is accessible via the hamburger button, will help you gain faster and easier access to all these areas, which is particularly useful if you want to make the jump from the first tab to the last, for instance, saving you the time it would take to swipe through it all.

The settings area allows you to check out more info about the app itself and to decide if you want to only watch videos when your device is connected to a WiFi network, which should limit the monthly data consumption. It’s also the area where you can make the switch between countries if you chose wrongly the first time or if you’re out traveling abroad and need to check out the right schedule.
