Matchbook 3.0.92

Matchbook helps you save locations you like and those you want to visit
Remember that restaurant you went to three months ago that was close that other one you like? How about that one place you saw on the internet and swore you had to visit? How were they called? Well, if you’re having troubles remembering, then you might be in need of a helping hand.

Matchbook is an iOS app that helps you create a list of restaurants and bars that you enjoy, both those that you want to visit and those that you’ve already fallen in love with. It's even possible to add in those places that you weren't that big of a fan of.

Save and store

The app lets you save, tag and handle all the data to make it all easier to find at a later time. Matchbook comes with a rather simple interface that should be pretty easy to figure out by all users, new and old.

What you need to do is tap the plus button at the top and search for the restaurant or bar you were hoping to return to. The app will then prompt you to enable it to get access to your location so it can run the search. The nasty part is that unless you allow it to use this feature of your phone, it won’t search for anything. It could, at the very least, give you the option to pick a country or city of residence and stop insisting on getting access to your GPS.

The app gets its data from Foursquare, which means you’re almost certain to find the locations you want. Just search for a portion of its name and you’ll get a few results to pick from in your city.

Get more info

When you click on any of the results, you’ll find more data about the location, including a phone number, a link to their website and a map with the location. It’s possible to edit its tags, add a note and photograph if you have some.

Most importantly, however, you can bookmark the place so you can find it easily the next time you need info about it. These can be added to two lists – one with places you’ve been to and loved, and one with places you want to try out.

The app’s settings area allows you to turn on and off notifications, and to choose whether the map should display distances in miles or kilometers.
Give this app a try if you want to make a nice collection of places you’ve visited and places you want to go to.
