ESPN 4.2.1
The ESPN app comes with an intuitive design, making it very easy to navigate by all users. On the main page you can check out the latest scores, divided by categories. Of course, if you’ve already been using the app for some time and you have your favorite teams lined up, you’ll get scores for those at the top of the screen.
Swipe for more content
Swiping on the screen enables you to switch from the scores tab to the news one and to the “now” one, where you’ll find fresh information that wasn’t important enough to be put into news. The news articles can be shared with the world via Facebook, Twitter, email, or message. They can also be opened in Safari if you so desire.
There are several other areas in the app that you can access, such as the Favorites tab. You can pick and choose your favorite teams from a separate menu that divides them all by sport. For instance, if you’re interested in a football team playing in the UEFA Champions League, you can find it easily, and the same can be said about teams from the NFL, NBA, MLB, and so on, or athletes in golf, racing, Olympics, tennis, F1, poker, cricket and more. Once you’ve made your selections, you can check out when they have their next sporting event lined up. Tapping on any of the teams enables you to check out their scores, news and table.
Talking of scores, you can check those out for a wide range of sports, but this time around, you’ll get the latest numbers divided by day. News and standings can be checked out too, as well as all those tidbits we mentioned earlier.
Check out videos
If you want to listen to broadcasts from ESPN or ESPN Radio, you can do that from the fourth tab in the app. These are no longer divided by sports, so you’ll have to dig your way through the list.
The app’s settings area gives users access to a few more features, although there aren’t an awful lot of them. You can, for instance, edit the alerts the app sends you and the favorites list. You can also manage the ESPN widget, enabling and disabling the Live Radio feature and controlling which of your favorite teams appear in the widget.
