DailyCost - Fast and Easy 1.1

If your monthly salary keeps flying out the window and you keep wondering where the heck it all went since there’s at least one more week before the next paycheck, then you probably need some help keeping track of things.

DailyCost – Fast and Easy is an app that was built exactly for that – allowing you to add in your expenses as you make them, jotting down every penny that comes out of your wallet or your card.

A simple tool

The app is pretty easy to figure out and there’s nothing complicated about it, aside from a few annoyances here and there. What you can do is log in various expenses that you make each day. You may file them under several categories, such as meals, snacks, mobile, traffic, friends, games, hospital, shopping, house, clothes, family and travel. Anything that doesn’t fit in these can be filed under the General category.

The amounts you spend can be typed in from the same area since there’s a number pad included in the interface so you won’t have to deal with a keyboard.

Once you press the OK button, the addition is made and you get to see everything you’ve spend for the day, divided by category. Now, for the annoying part – there’s no back button. If you want to log in another expense you need to tap on the hamburger button to reveal the side menu and on “Accounting.” This isn’t exactly a complicated action, but it’s one that’s quite annoying, especially when you have to log in multiple things at once. A simple back button or a shortcut of some kind would have made things that much easier.

Learn your patterns

You may check out where your money went by tapping on the previous days from the carrousel below. It’s also possible to check the history for the past week or month where all the expenses get added together by category.

There’s also the option to look at some pie charts to better understand what you’re spending the most money on. Alternatively, you can check the weekly and monthly charts, showing you how much you’ve spent in a given day and how your expenses compare from one day to the other.

It’s a simple tool, but one that could be quite useful for those who want to gain more control over their spending practices.
