Cute Or Not 1.1.0

Let’s face it, aside from getting information about whatever you’re interested in and wasting time on social networks, the Internet is all about worshiping animals. Sure, cats may be the rules of the Internet, but dogs aren’t that far behind.

Buzzfeed is a well-known site that mixes in pop trivia with news and cute pictures, so it wasn’t a surprise when we heard that there was a new app from the company. It’s called Cute Or Not and it wants to know whether you find various animal pictures adorable or not so much.

Just swipe

The app is pretty simple to use and even a three year old could figure it out. There really isn’t much of a mystery about how to operate the app – you have a picture of a cute puppy or an adorable kitty cat and two animated buttons. If you’re impressed with the image, you can swipe it to the right, while if you don’t like it you can just swipe it to the left. You can also just press the animated buttons at the bottom of the screen if you’d like, although it’s probably easier to just use your thumb to throw them to one side or another.

There are some extra buttons in there. For instance, in the lower mid section there’s a share button. You can use it to share the picture you’re looking at via text message, email, Twitter or Facebook. It’s also possible to save the image to your phone or report the post, if you find it inappropriate.

Upload your own

At the top right corner, you’ll find a camera button this enables you to either take a new picture of your pet so you can share it on the Internet or access the Camera Roll. Once you’ve got this covered, you can scale and crop the image, give the animal its name and then make some selections.

For instance, you can tell the app whether it’s a cat, a dog or some other animal and mention some of its personality traits. There are a few of those you can pick, such as sassy, silly, cuddly, courageous and so on.

The app will then create a picture with a caption that you can share to Facebook so your friends can vote for your pet.

There’s another button on the left corner which allows you to check out trending pictures, as well as the ones you’ve uploaded yourself. For those, you’ll be able to see how many people have sent your picture to the right. It’s also possible to delete the entry if you so desire.

It’s a really simple app, but it will surely make you waste a lot of time going “aww” after one pic or another.
