Bilber: News & RSS Reader 3.0.1

Reading news will keep you informed of what’s going on in the world, whether that’s next door, across the city, at the other end of the country or across the world. There are a lot of interesting things to read out there, including politics, tech news, music, business art and more.

Bilber is an app that will keep you up to date with everything that’s being published by certain sources. As you’ll notice when you launch the app, there are plenty of categories to scan through.

Once you settle on one that interests you, you’ll be able to select the sources you want to read from. Tapping on any of them will display their entire feed, while adding them to the list of feeds can be done through the “plus” sign at the top.

Add sources

You can add as many sources as you want. There are many available to pick from, including some from other countries, such as Russia. The language indicator should be at the top when sources from a different country are listed.

Once you’re done, you can check out the feed by swiping the screens to the right. There, you’ll find all the sites you’ve added. Removing any of them is quite easy and the only required action is a swipe to the left, which reveals the “delete” button.

By tapping on any of the sources, the feed will be revealed on the center page. It’s also possible to view content from all the sources if you want by tapping the “All” button. The Bookmarks button reveals all articles that you’ve saved.

Adjust it to your needs

When reading an article, you’ll see a stripped down version of the article. It is possible, however, to change the font and font size when reading, as well as to share it with the world via SMS, email, Facebook, Twitter and other apps you have installed.

All in all, this is a pretty nice app as far as a news reading tool goes. The bad part is that compared with other RSS readers, this one lacks a few features that could have made it a lot more useful. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a nice alternative, but if you have 50 sources and no way to put them into groups, you’ll find it annoying.
