If you’re expecting a child you want to make sure that you have all the information you need at your fingertips without having to call your doctor in the middle of the night to ask a million questions. For this purpose, it’s probably best to have a book around or, better yet, a mobile app that will give you most of the answers you seek.

BabyBump is an app that tries to do just that, providing you with information about your baby, your body and more.

Aside from having a name that will just turn away a good part of moms to be since there’s quite a bit of controversy regarding the term and quite a bit of hate towards it, the app works just fine.

As you start off, you’ll have to provide some info about yourself, including to register for an account, which involves providing your email address and picking a user name. You’ll also need to tell the app whether you’re expecting or not and when your estimated date of birth is so it can adjust the data for you.

The home screen displays information about your pregnancy status, including a slider that will fill in with every passing week and a short tip. There’s also a place to add pictures if you want to take a selfie to remember just how your growing belly looks like for every week.

The side menu, which is accessible via the famous hamburger button, gives you quick access to all areas of the app, including the Groups. Here, you can chat with other future mom and discuss the things you’re going through and bounce off ideas and feelings.

There’s also a message tab where you can check out whatever notes you may be exchanging with other users and an area where you can go through all the photos you took.

Fiddle with some settings

The Settings area allows you to add more info about yourself. For instance, you can adjust how the weekly info is delivered, add in some measurements such as your pre-pregnancy weight and height and set the default input settings for these.

BabyBump also comes with a store, but deliveries are only available in the United States, so you may browse along, but not actually buy anything. There are things, however, that you can buy from all corners of the world, including themes for the app.
