Some people use an RSS app to fetch their daily news, but others simply prefer what the BBC has to offer, mainly because the British broadcast company has so many bases covered.

Much like the TV experience

BBC News is specifically tailored for news consumption. It’s got a tile-based UI that displays the hottest headlines in every category (world, technology, finance, analysis, etc.) with crisp graphics and a real-time updated feed. There’s a Live Radio button at the top-right corner (which everyone can guess what it’s for), and there are no sub-menus or settings panes - always a plus.

A truly elegant news app, BBC News delivers a no-nonsense set of headlines in a flurry of categories without any setup or even a settings menu. It’s much like the TV experience, only without live video. Some UI customization, however, wouldn’t hurt.

Easy to use

BBC News covers all the bases with brief headline + picture summaries that can be scrolled through on the horizontal. Unlike other news apps, BBC’s news tool doesn’t move the entire UI when you skim through a particular section. It’s the perfect way to get to your content without navigating too far from the home screen.

Informative Live radio

Live Radio works even in the background and it only switches off when you hit the play button on a video. There are only a few ads to watch, and there are no nag screens about other BBC apps, or rate-us prompts.
