Battery Saver 1.7.1
One of such apps is Battery Saver. It sports an intuitive interface and uses animation to make it appealing to users. But don't expect it to do miracles on your phone.
Intuitive and fluent interface with lots of features at hand
The app doesn't launch with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, which is a shame since users find guidance beneficial especially when launching new applications. When you launch the app for the first time, you'll have to be a bit patient.
It will scan your device and analyze battery levels and settings that might cause your phone to drain. It displays your current battery level and an estimation on remaining time, but the information is covered by a banner ad and you won't be able to see it. A toolbar at the bottom of the screen gives you access to all sort of sections inside the app.
Extend your battery life
An icon on the top right corner of the screen gives you access to settings and some changes that you can do on your phone. In order to save battery, the app can be set to stop applications from running in the background.
It has a feature that lets you enable the low power switch and close certain processes when you need to save vital resources. The ones that you would like to keep can be added on a whitelist.
The app keeps a history of when you charged you phone, so you can monitor and see if the battery is working properly. It also lets you enable all sort of modes on your phone and adjust settings.
Lots of modes that you can personalize
You can adjust brightness, screen timeout, turn off data, WiFi or automatic sync in order to save battery. There's also the option to silence your phone and enable vibration. Users can create and manage only up to 3 modes for battery saving, but that should be more than enough.
Still, we have come across battery savers that had more. The rank section should contain a list of running programs, but it's empty although some apps are clearly running in the background. It seems that the app doesn't work properly and needs a bit more work.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
The interface has a really nice UI that uses animation, with lots of features at time and some settings under the menu. |
Function6
Some features inside the app don't really work, so don't expect the app to do miracles on your phone. |
Security6
It needs access to all sort of areas of your phone, but it shouldn't really pose any privacy issues. |
Battery1
The app needs a lot of resources to work, which actually defeats its purpose as a battery saver. |
Price5
It doesn't come with in-app purchases, which is quite a shame because banner ads actually cover the most important information in the app, battery levels. |
Compatibility9
It should work on devices running Android version 2.2 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
You'll surely find better battery savers in the store.
