In addition, it's always a good idea to clean junk as that may also cause your phone to lag. One of the apps that could help you with just that is Android Optimizer. It's a nice optimizer but it has a long way to go until it could actually compete against giants in this category.
Intuitive interface with plenty of features at hand
The app doesn't launch with a tutorial or presentation, but that's not necessarily a bad thing since it means that the app's size is reduced and it won't take up too much storage on your phone. The interface is quite fresh and clean, with all features at hand.
However, it doesn't have material design or a side menu with quick access to features. Still, it does have a settings menu with some changes that you can make to the UI and the app's functions.
Clean your device of junk
Android Optimizer takes quite a while to scan your device and retrieve all junk files, residual cache files or obsolete APKs. It uses animation while doing so, but it seems that this feature might cause the app to crash.
You can remove files by simply tapping on an icon. It also has a feature with some advanced settings, so you can make sure that it looks for files in absolutely all folders on your phone.
It has a feature that boosts your memory, it lets you kill apps running in the background, simply select the ones that you would like to close. There's an ignore list that you can create, so that you wouldn't accidentally close apps that you might need.
More features
Another feature regards some security issues that you might have with your apps but that section might cause the app to crash so don't expect much from it. The app manager lets users sort through their applications and remove the ones that they no longer need.
It displays the total size of apps, so that you would know which of them take up the most space. However, it doesn't sort them by the date they were installed. You can set a frequency for reminders and the app comes with a one click clean icon so you can kill apps with just one tap.
