Time Mobile 1.6
You can choose from multiple such applications, some that gather information from multiple sources and the official apps of news agencies, which come with fact-checked articles on a limited number of topics.
Time Mobile is one of those. The official application by Time magazine offers access to all sorts of articles, but comes with some UI issues and bugs.
Dated UI that really needs an upgrade
News reader apps normally come in stylish interfaces, with animation and plenty of effects. But Time Mobile doesn't, even its logo is in a low quality format and the menu drawer on the bottom of the screen had a gray background which makes it look really dated and dull.
Users don't need to register in order to use the app, but they also can't filter the information they're provided with. The app doesn't come with any instructions or tips for letting new users know how to access features and use the app to the fullest.
Poor selection of articles and some features
The app opens with a list of the most recent articles on the home page and it gives you the option of accessing sections, by tapping on the small icon on the top left corner. You can read top stories, check out the lightbox or life sections.
They're also accessible if you swipe the screen left, but you'll have to be careful with that as the app takes a while to load images associated to articles. It also comes with a search bar and records your recent search activity, but the app seems to have a problem with connecting to the internet and so the search feature doesn't work.
Few features and tools
Time Mobile lets its users save content for offline reading, but it has trouble opening the section. You can however change the font size and access settings to modify the number of stories per section or have the app not display photos.
You can also use widgets and have them display headlines from certain sections of the app. Moreover, it lets you customize the position of sections on the home screen.
All in all, Time Mobile is one of the worst news reader applications we've ever come across as it doesn't even assist Time subscribers to enter their credentials and gain access to all articles from the website. In fact, people would be better off if they read articles from the website on their mobile devices.
