You can do so easily with Speedtest.net. This app also allows you to compare test results of several networks, so that you can select the fastest one.

Test download and upload speed in seconds

The GUI is extremely intuitive, the app opens directly with the option to start a speed test, featuring animation and speed values while testing. Tests are performed fast and results are prompted on the screen. The app posts download and upload speeds as well as the amount of time it takes to connect to the server, also known as ping. One of its disadvantages is that it doesn't allow you to change test file specifications.

Compare results and share with friends

Results may be displayed in Mbps or kB/s, whichever you prefer and also you may compare networks or test results. The list of past results features detailed information on the type of network, time, download and upload speed, ping. You may also post results on social networks, so your friends could see the speed of networks you've used in public places, for example.

Information on location, internet provider and IP

It also provides information on your location and internet provider, as well as IP address, however this app comes with ads which may affect its overall appearance and user experience. Ads may be removed only if the user upgrades to the premium version.

All in all, it's an easy-to-use app for testing internet speeds and comparing various internet connections. The interface is intuitive, containing information that you need for an overall description of a network. However, the ads may become annoying and this app does use quite a fair amount of battery resources.
