WifiMapper - Free Wifi Map 1.1.005
It's a nice app that instantly finds free WiFi networks near your locations and it comes with some comments from other people who have tried it. It does need some setup but that shouldn't take long.
Sleek interface with plenty of features at hand
The app doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, which is quite inconvenient since new users would have found tips quite beneficial. It doesn't use material design and it lacks a side menu with some changes that you could do to the app's UI and features.
Still, it comes with some settings and the option to adjust the app's functions. All users need to register with an account, you can only use your Google credentials in only to do that. You'll also need to enable your location services, so that the app can find you on the map.
Find free WiFi networks
The interface simply consists of a map of your location, you can explore cities from all over the world and check the map for free WiFi networks. It shows you the network that you're connected to, together with some details on signal strength.
Tap on a WiFi network from the map to find details and the location. There's also a search icon at the top of the screen, in case you want to find a certain location. The app connects to Foursquare and loads comments from the network so that you can check out the location with the WiFi network.
Comment on WiFi networks
Users have the option to write a comment on the network and confirm if the WiFi is free, so that other users would know if the network is free or if it requires a password. It also shows you how many users connected to it and the type of venue it is.
The app requires a history on where and when you use your WiFi and how much mobile data it saves you. However, it needs a few days in order to collect information. It has some filters that you can apply, the option to search by distance, number of times connected, name, data used and more.
