Sleek UI with plenty of features
The app doesn't come with a tutorial, it simply opens with a list of features on the home page. It would have been nice if the app had material design implemented on the UI, but navigation is still done seamlessly. You can check out categories by simply swiping the screen and the settings menu is very comprehensive.
In fact, there are instructions and tips for each feature inside the app. The first thing that you should do after launching the app is to perform a full system scan, but you'll have to be patient with that. The app takes its time while scanning files and applications on your phone.
Find your phone in case of loss or theft
It finds potentially unwanted apps that might not be suitable for your phone. You can also schedule scans to perform, but the app isn't very efficient and it might miss some malicious files. It has a feature that lets you retrieve your phone in case of loss of theft.
Sophos can trigger the alarm on your phone, lock it or wipe all data that you've stored on it. All is done by sending a text message with a certain command to your phone. It sends the device location before the battery dies and it informs you if the SIM card is changed.
More features
It comes with spam filters for your calls and text messages, you can block numbers and calls with hidden caller ID. It also has a feature that blocks user access to malicious websites, but be careful that the tool doesn't always work properly. It scans all applications installed on your device and provides users with privacy advice.
It tells you which apps may cause costs, harm your privacy or access the internet. It displays detailed information on permissions that each of them need. It also has security features that let you enable USB debugging, device encryption and more. You can also protect certain apps with a password for startup.
