Smart App Lock 6.5.4
You can never be too careful, so it's a good idea to lock your phone with a password and lock apps that contain private information on your account. Smart App Lock is a great tool to help you do just that.
Sleek interface that lacks instructions
For new users, an app locker can be quite confusing thus it's recommended that such apps should come with plenty of instructions and even a tutorial to get users started. But Smart App Lock lacks tips or any sort of instructions.
The layout is really well structured, with all tools at the top of the screen and the option to share the app on the top right corner. Aside from this users can make plenty of changes to the interface.
Lock various apps
The app comes with some settings that can be done to the lock screen. You can change the theme or the background, but it provides few alternatives. Smart App Lock helps you lock any application on your phone. Simply select from the list of all apps and adjust settings.
There's the option of turning on Fake Lock, which will show an error pop-up window instead of the standard lock screen, to deceive unwanted users into thinking that the app has crashed. In addition, you can set the screen to not turn off when using certain apps or not to rotate to landscape/portrait mode when certain apps are running.
Set up multiple passwords
Smart App Lock comes with many locking types, including passwords, patterns and gestures. There's the option of adding a hint, in case you forget the code. But there's no feature that would allow users to type in a recovery email.
The app lets users set up multiple passwords to protect their data. In addition, you can lock/unlock your phone via SMS text, in case you forgot it at home or somewhere else. It's quite surprising how many areas of your phone you can lock, using the app you can limit access to your home screen, to incoming/outgoing calls and texts, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
You can also set a schedule so your phone would lock automatically. For security purposes, the app can be set to take a picture/video when unlock is failed. In addition, there's an intrusion log email sending feature in the Observer section, to increase security and protection.

Design / UI9
The interface has many features to choose from and many settings to be done to it. But it comes with few background images and themes. |
Function9
It's filled with many tools to lock almost anything on your phone. It has hints for when you forget the password, but no email feature for recovering it. |
Security9
It needs a lot of permissions from your phone, but they're all connected to its features so there's nothing to worry about. |
Battery8
Consumption of power is minimal, even during the setup page the app doesn't have the potential of draining your battery. |
Price10
Completely free of charge, it doesn't come with ads or in-app purchases. |
Compatibility8
It should work just fine on devices running Android version 2.3 or later. |
With a bit more work, it could actually be the best app locker on the market.
