Smart Alarm 2.1.2
It comes with plenty of features together with customization options and some unique tools to make sure you're really awake after you dismiss the alarm.
Functional interface with plenty of features at hand
The app doesn't come with a tutorial or any instructions to show new users how to navigate inside the app and access all its features. It does however display an alarm icon in the notification screen, so you can always check if the alarm was properly set and how much time is left before it goes off.
The interface isn't that nice, it only features a transparent background to which you can adjust the degree and it lets you access the settings menu from the overflow button on the bottom of the screen. You can however pick the color of the background and of the text font.
Customize the app to your liking
Other than that you can make some more changes to the interface, as the app lets you arrange alarms on the home screen based on certain criterias, like time order and name. You can also select three sections that you'd like the menu button to show you, like all menus or settings.
The app also comes with a widget and it lets you customize it in various ways. You can change the font color or adjust the size of the widget. There's also the option of adjusting the size of the dismiss and snooze buttons, together with their color. Smart Alarm Free also comes with a quick timer.
Set multiple alarms
Setting up an alarm is quite easy, you simply need to set the hour and have the app repeat in certain days. Next, you need to pick a ringtone or song from your gallery, adjust the volume and have the app play even in silent mode.
You can also pick from multiple dismiss modes, like pressing the button on the screen, entering a number several times or solving math problems, but the level of difficulty differs.
The app also lets you pick the maximum number of snooze cycles and it comes with a preview feature, but you can't hit the snooze button in this mode. The app can also be connected to your calendar to automatically disable alarms during holidays.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface is okay and it comes with some customization features but the settings mode is a bit confusing. |
Function8
It works just fine, but keep in mind that the alarm won't sound if your phone is turned off. Still, it's filled with plenty of alarm modes to pick from. |
Security9
It shouldn't pose any privacy issues as it only needs a few permissions from your phone. |
Battery4
It takes up a lot of resources so it would be better to keep your phone plugged in when using this app, especially at night. |
Price9
It's completely free of charge, but comes with annoying banner ads on the home screen. |
Compatibility8
It should work on devices running running Android version 2.1 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
It's a nice app but has a bit dull and boring interface.
