OneDrive 2.9.2

Store personal photos, videos and documents in the cloud
Many people switch through multiple portable devices on a daily basis. That's why it's important to have all your documents and pictures stored in one place, for easy and fast access from more than one device. OneDrive is Microsoft's free cloud storage platform, which comes with 30 GB free space and the option of getting more without paying.

Complicated registration page

Obviously, before getting access to cloud storage users must register with an account. But, registration on OneDrive is complicated and requires a lot of time. Firstly, you need to fill in a long form with personal and irrelevant information for such an account, like gender and date of birth.

Secondly, Microsoft wants to link your account with a phone number although it doesn't add to the app's functionality at all. Thirdly, you'll need to verify the email address you've provided but using another device is possible.

Upload all sorts of files

Word documents and spreasheets can be uploaded to the account, together with pictures and videos provided they don't surpass the maximum free storage of 30GB. They're all arranged into folders and you can create new ones to organize your files better.

You also have many options of sorting them by name, newest, oldest, largest and smallest. In addition, your recently added files are located in a separate section. The app also comes with the option of automatically syncing photos and setting up a passcode to protect them. But keep in mind that not one cloud storage service is 100% safe so be careful which files you choose to store on Microsoft servers.

Get more space

OneDrive offers users the option of getting additional space without actually paying for it and at the same time promoting the app. All you need to do it back up 15 GB of data which you may access from any device and even from within other apps.

Step two is syncing from your computer and referring the service to a friend to get up to 5 GB of more space. Overall, the service is extremely easy-to-use once you've registered and it's compatible with multiple operating systems including Windows, iOS and Android.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8

The interface is really simplistic, which makes it easy to manage files but it doesn't really appeal to users.

Function7

It takes a lot of time to register and that might discourage users, but it offers all the basic features of cloud storage and 30 GB of free space.

Security8

No cloud storage service is 100% safe and this one will read your contacts list in the phone, although it doesn't offer backup for them.

Battery8

It doesn't seem to take up too much power, but in order to limit consumption turn off camera sync.

Price9

Completely free of charge, no in-app purchases but for more space you'll need to refer the service to a friend.

Compatibility8

The developer didn't mention Android versions compatible for this app, but it should work on both smartphones and tablets.
