Next Browser 1.17
Lightweight interface
The app sports an intuitive interface, but that's only normal considering that many browsers are designed to make it easy to users to navigate on the web by using gestures rather than typing in addresses or tapping on many icons.
Since content is key, Next Browser doesn't overcrowd the screen with toolbars and icons thus taking the focus away from information. The browser doesn't come with additional themes to choose from and the whole layout resembles that of Google Chrome, but has a side menu with extensions on the right side and users must swipe left to switch to another tab.
Access any page instantly and read the news
The speed dial page makes it easy to create shortcuts to your favorite websites and access them instantly. It has a Google search bar at the top and you can use TTS to search for images, video and news if you please.
Swipe left and you'll find your recent tabs and a grid with top sites. Swipe right and the app gives you access to a gallery of news on major topics that you can check. There's the option of changing the language and adding topics that interest you the most.
Instant access to extensions
The browser comes with some pre-installed extensions, including for enabling full screen, turning on night mode or taking screenshots. It lets you switch to desktop mode and locking bookmarks that you save on your phone.
If you need more extensions, you can add them from a dedicated section. There's one for sharing content on Twitter, saving pages in your Pocket account or translating information. However, links to downloading many of these extensions don't actually work.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
The interface is truly lightweight and makes it easy to access extensions and history. But it doesn't come with themes or other customization features to the UI. |
Function8
Some extensions don't work but the app does a nice job when it comes to switching through tabs or reading the latest news. |
Security7
It comes with an incognito tab but there's no option of setting up a master password. Also, it needs a lot of permissions from your phone. |
Battery7
Consumption is lower than for other similar browsers, so at least you don't have to worry about it draining your battery. |
Price9
It's free but comes with ads which cannot be removed. |
Compatibility8
The app should work just fine on devices running Android version 2.2 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
It needs a bit more work, but it's great for users who are looking for a basic browser.
