MSN News 1.1.0
But if you wish to get the latest news from all sort of newspapers and websites, then it's best to get a news reader app. One less popular but really neat app is MSN News. It brings you all the breaking headlines from various sources directly on your phone.
Sleek interface with plenty of features at hand
The app doesn't come with a tutorial or any sort of instructions to get new users going, but instead it opens with the top stories section that incorporates all the major headlines on events unfolding around the world.
It has a side menu that grants access to various sections inside the app and you can even log in with your Microsoft account or adjust settings to make the app your own. Users can pick from multiple editions available inside the app and have MSN News provide them with stories from their location.
Browse through all sort of articles
You'll find all the top articles in a separate section, with the option of browsing through other stories arranged into various categories like US, world, crime, offbeat, technology, politics, entertainment, money and sports.
Simply tap on an article to open, the app lets you share it on social networks or enlarge font size if you wish. You can swipe the screen left to open the next story in the list and the app displays the hour when articles were posted, together with their source.
Customize the app
You can exclude tabs from the list and have the app only provide you content only on topics that interest you the most, but you can't filter providers or save content for offline reading. You can follow suggested stories and get all the latest updates so that you would be able to keep track of all developments in a story.
Other than that, the app also comes with a separate section that includes various videos that you can check out and a search bar to find articles fast. MSN News also has suggestions of other similar applications that you can download for free on your phone.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
The interface is really nice with access to all sort of sections in the left side menu and topics neatly arranged using tabs. |
Function8
It works just fine but it doesn't let you save articles for offline reading or filter news providers. |
Security7
It needs quite a lot of permissions from your phone, some of them aren't really connected to its features which means that the app is a bit intrusive. |
Battery7
Consumption is normal for a news-reader, but you might want to keep an eye on resources especially if you're watching videos. |
Price9
It comes with some ads to Microsoft, but it doesn't have any in-app purchases. |
Compatibility7
It should work on devices running Android version 4.1 or later, making it inaccessible to some users. |
It's a nice news reader app but it doesn't have one essential feature that allows users to save articles for offline reading.
