MEGA 2.6.2
While the service isn't spectacular, it does offer support and safe storage which is all that matter when we've talking about cloud services.
Sleek design with all features at hand
The first thing you'll need after you launch the app is to register with an account. Provide you name and email address to get 50 GB of storage space for free, so you can upload your pictures, videos, songs and various files to the cloud.
The interface is really simplistic and clean, which is a great thing considering that such apps should offer easy-to-use service without confusing users with too many icons and unnecessary features. A side menu provides access to all sections of the app, but there are no instructions to get you started.
Upload various files to the cloud
It's quite easy to save your files and pictures to the cloud. Tap on cloud drive and choose the file type you'd like to upload, you can select from images, audio files or videos. There's also the option of adding all sorts of files that you have stored on your device.
You can search, store, download, view, share, rename or delete your files, all the basic things that you would do with any file manager, but this one has cloud storage. Organize your files by moving them into folders, you can create as many as you like.
Tweak settings to meet your preferences
The link to the settings page is a bit hard to detect as the menu comes in a dark gray background, making it difficult to distinguish between sections. There are some settings you can make to the app, have it automatically sync pictures and videos to Mega by choosing a distinct destination folder and the type of files you'd like to be uploaded.
You can also have the app upload only via WiFi, so you'd save precious data and save files only when charging. Set a pin lock to the app, so you'd keep your pictures safe and set a timeout interval. Other section of the app includes contacts stored on your device, but it was difficult to upload them and there's also an inbox section.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
The interface is really simplistic but highly functional for such an app that needs fast access to features and tools. |
Function9
The free version will get you 50 GB of space, the option of syncing all sorts of files and of organizing them in the cloud. |
Security9
There's also a risk with cloud storage, but Mega seems to be pretty secure as it lets your own device to encrypt and decrypt data and offers the option of setting a pin lock. |
Battery5
Consumption is really high, have the app only sync and upload files when the phone is charging so it wouldn't drain your battery. |
Price8
It's free of ads, but for more space users would have to subscribe with an account the minimum subscription is 9.99$ per month for 500 GB storage and 1.0 TB bandwidth. |
Compatibility8
The app should work just fine on devices running Android version 2.3 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
Plenty of cloud storage and fast upload from Mega, the successor of Mega Upload.
