My File Explorer 1.0.4
Fortunately, Google Play Store is filled with all sort of apps that help you do just that. One of such applications is My File Explorer. It's an intuitive but a bit dated explorer that helps users manage their files easier and use various tools to archive them.
Sleek interface with lots of features at hand
The app doesn't launch with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, which is quite inconvenient since users could always find tips useful, especially if they provide some guidance as how to use the app.
It launches directly with the home screen, featuring the most popular directories on your phone and it displays the number of files that each of them contains.
There's a toolbar at the bottom of the screen, with quick access to all sort of features, including the settings menu. You can adjust all sort of settings inside the app and make it meet your preferences.
Browse through all sort of directories on your phone
The app displays the number of files that each folder contains, together with the option of sharing items online, on social networks or by attaching files to emails. A bar at the top of the screen displays the total number of folders on your device and the amount of stored data.
The app doesn't let users view videos or listen to music inside the app, so you'll need to access other applications in order to view your files. This is quite inconvenient, since users need to know or see previews of their files so that they could manage them better.
More tools and features
Users can create new folders or notes on their phones, they can also access the camera and snap pictures. The settings menu provides you with access to all sort of sorting methods, like name, kind or date.
But other than that you can't make any adjustments to the app's functions. Batch selection is available, you have the option of deleting or moving multiple items.
The app doesn't archive files, which is quite inconvenient since many file managers from the market do come with this feature. Still, it has a search bar at the top of the screen for finding items faster.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface is fluent, but it could use a nicer design with animation and quick access to more features. |
Function7
It's missing some essential features, like the option to archive items and some more tools. |
Security9
It needs access only to a few areas of your phone, which means that it shouldn't pose any privacy issues. |
Battery3
Consumption seems to be quite high for a file manager, so keep an eye on resources when using this app. |
Price8
It doesn't come with any in-app purchases, but the app has some annoying banner and popup ads which you can't remove. |
Compatibility8
It should work on devices running Android version 4.0 or later, making the app accessible to many users. |
It's missing some essential features, but it's still worth a try.
