Epicurious Recipe App 1.0.1
Ill-fitted UI with few options
The app launches with a list of meal categories, including recipes for weeknight dinners, cocktails and snacks. The background image isn't HD and icons seem a bit blurred. There are no options to change the theme, like recipes or comment on them. Overall, the app seems a bit simplistic, but is well arranged as all features are set at the bottom of the age and there are no banner ads to take up screem space.
Browse through recipes
Simply tap on a category to browse through various recipes and ideas. There are also foods for certain holidays and children, or for people who are new in the kitchen. Each category has a certain number of recipes. The name of the uploader and the date are mentioned with each recipe, together with the rating and number of reviews it got.
However, the app doesn't allow users to write reviews or even log into their Epicurious account. There's a limited space for displaying the name of recipes and some of them don't fit entirely. In addition, the app takes its time to load pictures, some recipes don't even come with illustrations.
Search for recipes and add them to your shopping list
The dinner party ideas section doesn't load. While you swipe through recipes, you may find yourself noticing that the UI is non-responsive or has encountered an error and you'll be swiping multiple times over the same recipe.
In addition, the search section also has some issues and it doesn't come with auto-fill suggestions. Still, it allows you to select multiple tags for recipes and drinks to help find them faster. In addition, you can use voice search. Each recipe can be added to a shopping list or favorites section, to make them easier to find.
But the app doesn't come with a timer or unit converter, like most such applications do. Also if you wish to email a recipe, you'll notice that the window was poorly developed and sections are extremely enlarged. The home screen widget doesn't work, it only displays a message saying connection error, although the network is fine.
