One of the most complex and complete cooking apps is Yummly with 1 million recipes collected from all the major cooking websites, so that you could create your own recipe box.
User-friendly interface with plenty of features
All users that access the app must first register with an account, use your Facebook or Google profiles to do so, or an email address. You can then take a tour of the app, to get a general idea of features that you can find and other advantages.
It comes with a side menu that lets you access multiple areas of the app, including settings. You can change the units of measurement and pick metric or have the app provide you with notifications and only show recipes with images.
Search for multiple recipes
The app also lets you find recipes based on dietary preferences, you can pick disliked ingredients from a long list and have the app exclude recipes that contain said ingredients. It lets you pick from various diets, like vegetarian, paleo and pescetarian or allergies, like dairy and egg free. It also has "OK Google" support, tell your device to search for any kind of dish and Yummly will automatically show you recipes.
However, there's no option to search for recipes low on sodium or any other spices. The home section is filled with the trendiest recipes, but there's no list of categories. You can however, use the search bar to find certain recipes and then filter them by various categories.
Create your own cookbook
It's quite easy to create your own cookbook, all you need to do is tap on the Yum icon to add a recipe to your cookbook. All recipes come with plenty of instructions, a list of ingredients, the number of calories they contain and an option to share the recipe on social networks.
It's filled with all the nutritional information you need. Favorite 5 recipes and the app will start providing you with suggestions of recipes that you may like. You can view and manage your recipes from the My Yums section, all recipes are arranged into categories like drinks, sides, breakfasts, deserts and dinners.
