CrookCatcher 1.1.7
However, some only come with a few tools, but you'd expect them to work perfectly. Or at least to work. CrookCatcher - Anti Theft is one of such apps, it works but not during each attempt, which means that it could actually leave your phone unprotected.
Nice and fluent interface but with few features
The app doesn't launch with a tutorial, but it does have a setup to help you adjust settings before actually enabling the app. It comes with a help section filled with all sort of instructions for understanding where you can access features and tools.
The app needs administrator access to your phone, so that it would read unlocking attempts on your phone. It also needs users to lock their devices with a password, a pattern or a pin number, otherwise the app is useless.
When you're done with that, you'll need to provide the app with your email address, but you'll find the option under settings and not in the setup, which is quite strange.
Protect your phone
The UI is quite intuitive, it has a separate section with pictures and failed unlocking attempts. Basically, CrookCatcher takes pictures of people who attempted to unlock your phone and it displays the approximate location of your phone.
It also tells you the time and date when the attempt was made, together with an estimated address, accuracy level, latitude and longitude coordinates. You can also get directions, the app connects with Google Maps that's why it's best to keep your location services on.
Some flaws
The strange thing about this app is that it displays all the information inside the app, while if you lost your phone you'd need it in an email. The app should request users an email address in the setup and not have the option under settings.
It seems that the whole layout of the app wasn't cleverly conceived. But it seems that the app does have trouble sending emails. It does however come with some settings, you can set up the number of failed attempts, enable notifications, adjust picture quality, rotation and always record your phone's location. All in all, the app needs some improvements since one of its main features doesn't really work.

Bottom Line
Design / UI5
The UI is quite nice, but the setup should also contain the option for activating the email address for receiving your phone's location. |

Since the app has trouble sending emails, it means that it isn't very reliable which is quite inconvenient seeing how it also has very few features. |

It needs access to some areas of your phone but some of them are connected to its features so you don't need to worry. |
Battery8
Consumption isn't high so you don't need to worry about the app draining your resources. |
Price8
It comes with banner ads which you can remove if you pay 2.59$. |
Compatibility8
It works on devices running Android version 4.1 or later, making the app available to many users. |
It has some trouble sending emails and the whole setup needs improvement.
