Apps Organizer 1.5.19
Organize apps by assigning them labels
Apps Organizer is a lightweight tool that allows you to organize your apps into folders by assigning them labels. Depending on the functionality of the apps, you can have for example a folder containing games, another one with internet-related apps such as browsers and email clients, one including multimedia apps, etc.
The folders are displayed as widgets on the home screen. You can place a single widget that contains all the folders, or multiple widgets, each of them including a different folder. An app can have multiple labels, so it can appear in several folders, e.g. a radio player can be listed in both the internet and multimedia categories.
It comes with several features and a widget
Apps Organizer has a simple interface with only two tabs. One of them shows all the apps and lets you assign labels to them by simply tapping on an item in the list. The other tab allows you to manage labels. Here you can delete default labels, as well as create new ones. Folders can have different icons to easily differentiate them.
Apps you use the most can be starred to appear first in the widget. Also, the widget includes a button that, when pressed, shows only starred apps. In my case, I have used the star functionality for a different purpose. When browsing the apps, there is no way of quickly viewing which apps you have labeled, making the software harder to use when you have many installed apps. To overcome this, I have used the stars to mark apps that I have already assigned labels to, making the remaining apps easier to spot.

Bottom Line
Design / UI7
From a visual standpoint, Apps Organizer doesn't shine and the interface is outdated. However, using the app is quite intuitive. |
Function8
Apps Organizer comes as a great helper if you want to remove clutter from the home screen. |
Security7
Apps Organizer needs permission to determine the phone number and device IDs, which is unusual given its functionality. However, it doesn't require internet access. |
Battery9
After assigning labels, you can exit the app, so the power consumption is minimal. |
Price10
Apps Organizer is free and doesn't include any ads. |
Compatibility6
The app is compatible with Android OS versions all the way down to Cupcake. Unfortunately, the app has proven to be quite unstable on KitKat and crashed a few times. |
