Microsoft Outlook 1.1.0
Outlook has been around for years and it’s been, for the longest time a desktop-only service, one that many used to handle all their email, to easily distribute every incoming message to a specific folder and so on.
While the service has been out on Android for a while, it’s only now hit the iTunes Store, bringing the same quality over to Apple fans.
The app has been designed for both the iPhone and the iPad and it brings all the familiar capabilities that desktop users have grown accustomed with, including the ability to add more than one account to the system.
Clean interface
Outlook’s interface is clean and intuitive, making it easy to navigate even by first time users. The app comes with a smart algorithm that separates your inbox into two different sections. One of them is “Focused” where you get the most important mails, while the second is “Other” which has a pretty self-explanatory name.
The service allows you to add a multitude of email addresses, including those from Google and Yahoo. More can be added from the get-go, but it’s always possible to add accounts at a later date if you so desire.
From the app’s side menu you can access these individually, by contracting and expanding the folders as needed, with the help of a simple arrow button.
Emails can be read quite easily and, if the conversation contains a few exchanges, you can view them all. These can be scheduled to be read later, to be moved to the other group, or marked as unread. It’s also possible to delete or archive them. You can even do this from the main window by simply sliding the emails left or right. While some features have already been assigned to these gestures, they can be adjusted from the settings area.
More than emails
Aside from the ability to handle your email accounts, you can also access the calendar and make new appointments, view and attach files from your email, OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive and other accounts in just a few steps.
Basically, the app will make your entire life easier, giving you access to a lot of cool tools to streamline your activity. The fact that Microsoft has finally made the Outlook jump to iOS is great and those who have been searching for a reliable way to handle their daily business, it’s finally here.
