Player dreams 2.4.04
There are plenty of music players on Google Play Store that you can choose from, depending on what you're preferences are when it comes to music player apps. Player dreams offers all the basic features that most players do, but it needs some improvements on the UI in order to stand out.
Clean but boring design
The interface is really well organized, with a neat layout that gets you access to all the areas of the app with the tap of one finger. The app only comes with two skins, a dark and light one that you can shift through.
There are some settings that you can do to it, like have streaming resume when you connect headsets or choose between multiple languages. It doesn't have instructions or tips, leaving new users a bit confused. Still, you can change the color of text, icons and even control buttons, in order to customize the app to your liking.
Listen to all your favorite music
The app makes it easy to listen to your songs saved on the device. It doesn't take long to scan your media and it will let you create playlists, mix songs together or search by artists and albums. You also have the option of searching directly in directories and folders to find music. The app doesn't play videos.
The menu at the top of the screen is filled with shortcuts to all features and users have the option of adding more icons if they wish to. There's also a search bar you can use to find certain songs stored on your device. The player comes with lock screen and status bar controls, together with 10 second rewind icons for the main page.
Several tools and a radio
The player also comes with a multiband equalizer that helps you adjust audio frequency and balance. It includes a bass bosster and a virtualizer, together with plenty of presets to choose from and you can save all profiles that you create in the app.
The radio included in the app has some genres to choose from, like Italian music, jazz and audio books. However, many of them are Russian and the app doesn't display the current song playing on the station or the frequency. Moreover, the app comes with a visualizer for the main page and plenty of widgets to choose from.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface seems a bit boring and it definitely needs more colors and skins to choose from. |
Function8
It's a neat player, but it could use some more features. |
Security8
It doesn't need online registration but peaks into many areas of your phone, some unconnected to its features. |
Battery8
It takes up a lot of battery, but that's somewhat normal considering that it's a music player. |
Price10
The app is completely free of charge, no ads or in-app purchases whatsoever. |
Compatibility7
It should work just fine on devices running Android version 4.0 or later, but that makes it inaccessible to many users. |
A neat music player that could use some improvements.
