iOS Launcher 1.0.0.0
Users who are eager to give their handsets a bit of the beautiful visuals of iOS powered devices can now enjoy a flavor of it onto their Windows Phone units thanks to an application suggestively called iOS Launcher.
Cool looks and simple operation
The utility comes with a pretty nice GUI, thanks to the beautiful graphics and background image that are similar to those that appear on iOS powered devices. A great disappointment is the presence of some annoying advertisements that are shown right across the center of the screen.
All the features built-in iOS Launcher can be reached with ease, as soon as the main menu is activated with an upwards swipe movement. The commands are ordered neatly and the info shown on the lock screen and inside the main menu is very easy to read.
After one of two uses you will start to receive at application startup some reminders that prompt you to leave a rating and review the application.
Access system areas with one tap
The application has several shortcuts pinned to each screen and some locked into position in the transparent dock that resides, as usual, in the lower side of the screen.
You should note that in order to open those utilities you must have them installed onto your Windows Phone, otherwise you will be prompted to search for them in the Store. The system settings are opened instantly, so at least for this purpose iOS Launcher can be used with success.
Ease of access and functional issues
This app implements a much coveted feature of Apple's mobile operating system that came with iOS 7, more precisely the Control Center and it makes it very easy to bring up, with a simple swipe up movement.
There is, nonetheless, a visible annoyance you will notice when going through the "Settings" menu and it is caused by this feature. The swipe gesture in this area is supposed to allow you to move through the list of available options, but it will also trigger the Control Center.
In case you want to try out the wallpaper modification function, you will be let down once more because it is not available just like that, as you are prompted to join the Facebook page of the developer to unlock it.
