Total Explorer is one of the applications that can provide a lot of handy features for anyone to use in handling the data stored onto the Windows Phone device or in accounts associated with cloud storage services.
Cool looking GUI, with a very practical side
The looks of this app are decent, with a nice theme going on and some decent graphics all through the utility, while the content is kept neatly organized and ordered according to specific criteria you can modify at any moment.
The appearance can be customized a bit b choosing a different accent color and activating the item background or leaving it disabled as it is by default. The photo viewer component supports high-quality pictures even if it will take a few extra seconds to display them.
Going through long lists of files, with the thumbnail preview activated will have as result some delays in loading the items, especially for image files, but these lags are short enough to avoid becoming bothersome.
The advertisement banners on the other hand are quite irritating as they follow you around inside almost every section of the app.
Manage local and cloud storage data on the fly
The basic commands for handling any kind of files are present inside Total Explorer and it brings some extra functions as well, so you will be able to do a bit more than rename, copy, cut, share or delete items in no time.
This utility is also able to handle your cloud storage folders, as it integrates with OneDrive and shows the remote containers as local drives inside the GUI, so you can manage the content a lot easier.
This utility will also enable you to go through the audio files and pictures you keep on your device and if the images can be viewed up close, opening the songs and adding several tracks inside a playlist is also possible thanks to a dedicated music player with all the needed controls.
Viewing detailed information about an individual file or a selected batch consists of presenting the file(s) location, creation date and exact size. For supported file formats, like digital pictures, a preview is also included in the properties area.
In case you want to look for a specific file or document inside the app, the built-in search module will surely come in handy. An important thing you should keep in mind is that at most 9 folders can be added to the storage menu inside Total Explorer.
