Toolbox 1.5.0.0

Access system settings on the fly and pin shortcuts tiles to the Start screen of your phone
Most users prefer to have as many of the most commonly used system commands close at hand to be able to use them without having to go through several menus in order to access them

Windows Phone users can take care of this by pinning the necessary shortcuts to the Start screen, when this is allowed by the system, or by enlisting the help of a dedicated application like Toolbox.

Straightforward front-end, bent on practicality

This particular app has a pretty simple GUI, with some large tiles inside the main screen that make it very easy for you to access the corresponding system settings.

The graphics are well designed and the phone information provided in the dedicated area of the utility is easy to read, but the details on the more lengthy lines are not shown in full.

A minor annoyance comes from the reminders that prompt you to rate and review Toolbox. They come into view after a couple of uses, but with two taps they can be disabled and sent off for good.

Quick shortcuts at your fingertips

Inside the "Shortcuts" section of the application you will find all the tiles that can take you immediately to system areas like the cellular WiFi, Bluetooth, lock screen or location services settings.

If you press and hold for a couple of seconds any of these items you will reveal the command that sends them to the Start screen. Also, on some of the tiles from Toolbox you can view the status of the corresponding system feature, more precisely you can tell if, for example, the WiFi or Bluetooth are turned on or off.

Among the useful shortcuts listed inside the utility, there are a few that direct you to some third-party apps made by the same developer.

Detailed device information at a glance

This utility is also able to serve as a means of exploring some details related to your Windows Phone hardware and software environments.

More precisely, inside the "Phone info" section you will have at your disposal some interesting info that includes, apart from the usual device model, OS, firmware and hardware versions, so extra data concerning some of the items stored onto the handset.

Thus, you can check out the number of photos and songs, as well as the total size of the images or the real IP address, which can be revealed with one tap on the dedicated link shown inside the same screen.

The application is pretty discreet and the system ares it needs to look into are related to its functionality.

While Toolbox is running the battery usage reaches pretty high levels as the power consumption is substantial.

With all the features completely free to use and lacking any nuisances the app has an excellent value overall.

Compatibility9

This utility is good to go as long as users install it on Windows Phone 8 or higher handsets.
