With the help of this app you have the possibility to initiate phone calls or send SMS messages to any of the 9 contacts you select. The utility's behavior on a double tap is customizable, so you can assign any of the aforementioned actions from the "Settings" area.

The information displayed on every tile can include the contact name or phone number, but you can opt for either of these or leave both unchecked to see only the photo appointed for that entry or the default blue tile.
