The cool interface of this utility offers quick access to all the tools and commands from the neatly organized workspace you have at your disposal. The preview area is well-sized and all the functions are at hand, ready for use at a moment's notice.
The modifications are revealed promptly and there are no glitches in moving around the app. A drawback visible while capturing video content is that the focus adjusts with difficulty and there are no manual controls for that.
Record clips or use saved content for your projects
MovieJax enables you to quickly select the desired multimedia files you want to add to the project you begin working on and it will import videos and photos from the local storage or you can capture video using the on-board camera(s).
There are some settings you can go through before tapping the screen to record and they pertain to the video resolution and white balance profile. It is also possible to select one of the 4 live filters at your disposal, so you can capture clips with vignetting, sepia, vintage or grayscale effects already applied.
Video editing at a glance
This utility is equipped with plenty of tools and options that you can make the most of when putting together the videos. Thus, you have the possibility to add photos that will be displayed for as many seconds as you choose or include some text with custom color, background and size.
Reordering the sequence of multimedia items inside the project timeline is easy to do and there are many other customizations for you to try out. Thus, you can apply filters after the video is captured, choose sound volume level for the selected clip or trim the video.
Adding a soundtrack is easy to do, as MovieJax supports importing audio files inside the projects. More annoying is the 30 second per clip limitation that is in effect for the free version and a payment is required to remove this restriction. Also on the downside, the app closes unexpectedly after a few minutes of inactivity, so you can lose your work if the project is not saved.
