Xim 1.5.1.0
Microsoft's Xim comes to bring a new and inspiring way of letting others access your pictures from any device, more precisely only those pics that you choose to let them see.
Clean and practical GUI
This application offers a nice interface for you to enjoy while sharing images, with smooth graphics and a smart layout that puts all the functions and commands right at your fingertips.
Going through the various sections of the utility is a breeze, as the navigation is fluent and without any glitches. Also, browsing the pictures is seamless on both ends: locally, onto the your Windows Phone and on the paired device or on your friend's handset.
Quick account creationfor effortless sharing
Getting started with Xim is very easy, as you can create an account by adding your credential manually and using your phone number, or you can complete the registration by simply importing your Facebook details.
Once you are set up and ready to start sharing, you can let other look at your pictures in a few instants. All you have to do is pick the images and add the people to show them to by inserting their phone number, email address or name to have them retrieved from your list of contacts.
Support for several sources and cross-platform access
When creating new Xims you have the possibility to use the photos stored locally, inside Camera Roll, or access the pictures from your OneDrive, Facebook, Instagram or Dropbox accounts.
The integration with mobile and desktop platforms goes even further as the Xims can be sent to other devices like the Xbox One, Amazon Fire TV or any other device that has a web browser and is connected to the Internet.
Add content or save photos on the fly
The expiration time for each Xim is of 60 minutes, but while they are active you or anyone you shared it with and who has the application installed can add new images and share thoughts that will become visible to the other people invited to view the pics.
While looking at the same slideshow, all the devices will be in sync and if someone flips the page to view the next photo or zooms in, the change will propagate to all those who have the respective Xim opened.
In order to keep the pictures you just have to tap and hold the opened image and in a few seconds it will be saved to your device.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The app has a tidy aspect, with decent graphics, but it lacks some customization options or a few themes users can choose from. |
Function8
The facile sharing and virtually universal access to Xims are great, but there are some situations in which the app closes unexpectedly and there is no way of deleting a Xim once it is created. |
Security10
This application is pretty safe to instal and use as it only looks into system areas that are related to its functionality. |
Battery2
The power consumption is tremendous and keeping the utility running continuously will deplete the battery in a couple of hours. |
Price10
Excellent value from an app that offers freely an original way of sharing pics with people, regardless of the type of device used. |
Compatibility9
Ready to run on the more recent handsets on the market, Xim will only function on those powered by Windows Phone 8 or above. |
