The auto-focus ability relies on the phone's built-in flash, as it illuminates the area in front of the camera lens in order to obtain the best quality.
However, in many cases using the manual focus by moving the corresponding slider will have slightly better results, as the adjustment can be made with increased precision.
The "Save" option that might entice you from the upper part of the screen is unfortunately not available for free, so a small fee will be required to enjoy this feature of Magnifier.
