Practical look, made for efficient use
The utility comes with a decent appearance, featuring some nice graphics here and there, but with a sober general theme, predominantly colored in black and white.
The events and all the content provided by this app are presented in an organized fashion, while all the commands and functions are kept at hand, for quick access.
Navigating among the numerous sections of History is smooth and without any delays or similar glitches, but the continuously changing ad banners shown in the lower side of the screen will become quite annoying very fast.
Choose the type of view and read the events on the go
The application shows, by default, some of the most important historical events that occurred at the current date many years back. Nonetheless, this is very easy to modify, as you can opt for the 7 or 30 days view and thus explore a wider range of facts you might find of interest.
Once you tap on a specific entry from the event list, you will be able to view the complete details, with the links to the corresponding Wiki pages you can access for more information.
Share events and manage categories in a simple manner
With History you can easily send out the links to the events you are currently reading, thanks to the built-in sharing function that is available from the main menu when any event page is open. The listings can also be hidden and then visited from the dedicated section of the application.
If the utility displays all the events from all the categories it comes with, you can select only those you are really interested in and even customize their appearance, as there are two separate modules for configuring these settings.
A neat addition is the live tile that you can pin to the Start menu and view at a glance the daily events and also those that at scheduled for tomorrow. A drawback with regard to this tile is that it doesn't support the wide format.
