Common GUI, with a lot of information at a glance
The appearance of this tool is not too different from that of other similar solutions, but it still has many particularities that set it apart.
The right-side and bottom menus contain all the commands you will need to operate the app and when extended these menus will not obstruct the view too much as they are transparent. The graphics are acceptable, with some less polished icons inside the several sections of the application.
The ad banners appear on the top side of the screen and are continuously changing, which can be quite unnerving, while some prompts for rating the app appear even from the first run.
Fast localization of various places of interest and accurate directions
GPS Map+ takes only a couple of seconds to identify your current position and it features a smart search for finding other locations you might want to reach or get information about. Plotting the course to the destination is also done promptly and you can receive real time guidance as well.
In case you need to use the maps when there is no Internet connectivity in the area, the offline maps feature will come in handy. There are several modes in which the map can be displayed, while you have at your disposal both Bing Maps and Google Maps.
Get weather or traffic info and other useful extras
With this app come bundled a few tools you can use while on the go, like a compass or a measurement utility. Having various services and points of interest highlighted can be easily done from the menu that appears when you press and hold anywhere on the map.
GPS Map+ also enables you to take screenshots of the current location and there is also a feature for tagging places and adding messages that can be then shared alongside the snapshots with your friends.
