Flashlite 3.2.1.0

Shed light in dark places with a neat virtual torch you can carry in your pocket
Since modern camera phones are usually equipped with an LED flash, numerous applications that can use that particular feature for other purposes have been developed. Flashlight applications can be really useful, as anyone walking on a poorly illuminated street or going up a flight of stairs engulfed in darkness might have discovered.

Tailored to fit the needs of Windows Phone users, Flashlite is one of the utilities that was created to be of assistance for anyone looking to light up the place they are currently in, using only their mobile device.

Tidy looks and an easy to use front-end

This app comes with a simple GUI, without any adornments, but with some nice graphics for the multifunctional dial in the middle of the screen. The operational commands are all at hand, so you should have no problems in accessing them.

There is a noticeable drawback that you will come across as soon as you open the application and it is represented by the presence of some advertisement banners. They are shown right at the bottom of the screen and are constantly changing, which can be quite disruptive.

Seamless flashlight operation, with customizable frequency

Flashlite works in a very simple and intuitive manner, so all you have to do is tap the ON/OFF button in the main screen to activate or deactivate the light. To turn the light on you can also use the camera button on your phone and even shake the device if this option is checked in the "Settings" menu.

Keeping the flashlight on constantly is not the only thing you can do with this app, as it can be used equally easily for intermittent light emissions. To do this, you have to press on the small dots placed beneath the large dial and the closer you get to the "-" sign, the more quickly the light will pulsate.

Send S.O.S. messages and find your bearings on the spot

There are more things to discover inside this utility and one of them is the button that triggers the emergency signal mode, so in case you are in distress someone may find and help you. The application can run under the locked screen, it is able to prevent that and can even display battery info on the main screen if necessary.

Another useful feature is the compass that you surely noticed from the first run. This tool doesn't have a needle, like most apps of this kind, instead it moves the entire dial and allows you to view the current heading as well as the position of the True North.

Bottom Line
Design / UI7

The looks of this app are decent, fairly clean and with some good graphics, but there are some irritating ads inside and no GUI customization options.

Function9

The multiple uses of this tool make it a really versatile app, but it still has a noticeable drawback, namely the ability to light up the screen, like many other similar applications do.

Security6

Besides the system areas that have to be accessed by this app due to its functionality, there are many other places in which it looks for no good reason.

Battery3

Keeping this utility running for longer periods of time will result in the complete battery drainage, as it needs a huge amount of power to function.

Price8

There are many handy features packed inside this app, so despite its shortcomings it is still a really good choice for users worldwide.

Compatibility9

Flashlite works well on most Windows Phone handsets out there, as it only needs that at least version 7.5 of the operating system is installed onto the target device.
