Whole Foods Market Recipes 5.0.2

Whole Foods Market Recipes gives you thousands of ideas for your next meal
Eating healthy is important and in today’s world that’s becoming harder and harder to do. Organic foods are harder to land in your fridge, mostly because they’re often quite a bit more expensive than what you can find in regular supermarkets.

Whole Foods Market Recipes is an app that seeks to help you make better meal plans while eating healthier. Of course, the tie to the rather controversial stores means it would rather that you pick up the ingredients you need from their own stores, but that doesn’t exactly make it mandatory.

Loads of recipes to choose from

Either way, the app comes with some pretty nice recipes that you can go through. There are some that are featured and will appear at the top of the front page and there are others that you can find as you scour app.

As you open a recipe, you’ll notice how many people it will serve, and what rating it received. Scrolling down a bit will reveal nutritional information contained by the dish, including the number of calories, cholesterol, sugar, protein and so on.

You can then check out the ingredients, which can be added to the shopping list. In order to perform this operation, however, you’ll have to sign in with a Whole Foods account if you have one or sign in with Facebook, Google, Yahoo or Twitter.

The method of cooking is stored in a separate tab, where you can read the entire recipe. Unlike other apps, it’s not exactly a step-by-step, list-like, presentation, but rather a block of text. Recipes can be shared, emailed or sent via message.

Extra features

The side menu gives you access to the so-called recipe box, where you’ll find all those that you’ve saved, the meal planner and shopping lists. You’ll also get access to the “On Hand” feature, which allows you to search for a specific recipe which contains the things you have in your pantry already. It’s possible to add up to three ingredients to the list.

The search results can be further filtered by picking a recipe category, the course it should fit, or the type of diet you need to keep in mind when cooking.
This is a nice app and even if you won’t use it before going to Whole Foods to do your shopping. Take advantage of the many recipes it hosts and eat healthier.
