What to Expect 6.3.1
The “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” book has become a worldwide phenomenon over the years, being one of the most trusted such published writings. There was even a movie released in 2012 featuring Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Brooklyn Decker and Anna Kendrick that bore the same name.
Now, What to Expect is also available as an iOS app, providing women with the information they need to get through their pregnancy.
Set things up
Once you launch the app, you’ll have to provide information about your due date and an email address so that your data is synced across multiple devices if needed. The tool immediately calculates the pregnancy stage and gives information about the baby’s size and how much time you have left until the little one gets delivered. You may mention in the app whether you’re a mom, dad, caregiver or relative, as well as if you’re a first-time parent.
You’ll then be given the chance to pick a username and password before starting to use the app, but this particular step can be left for later if you so desire. The app gives you access to plenty of information, but also various types of stories and debunked old wives tales, tips and tricks and community posts.
You may then go on to view more information about both your baby’s development and your body’s changes during any given week. You may even read on about common symptoms and other articles recommended for you.
A social touch
The app comes with an integrated journal that you can write in. It’s even possible to add photographs and to get those photos synced to your account. The Community feature enables you to discover groups nearby, popular groups or that for women whom you share a due month with.
One of the things that this app desperately needs is the ability to switch out to the metric system so that all users can enjoy its benefits and better understand just how big their baby is and how much it weights without having to do mental math each time such data comes forward.
