Veggie Weekend 1.8

Veggie Weekend shows you that eating vegan or vegetarian recipes can be tasty
Being a vegan or a vegetarian is more common these days than it used to be. Trying to find something to cook for these specific diets, however, can be a bit difficult and require a lot of imagination since it’s not that easy to find the perfect recipes unless you have some special sites bookmarked on your computer.

Veggie Weekend is an app that’s dedicated to those who are seeking to have their fill on such recipes without having to say goodbye to eating tasty foods.

Easy to use

The app is pretty straightforward and you don’t need special instructions to find your way around it. There’s the main screen where you’ll find all the recipes you want. The packs you’ll have to pay for can be found at the top, as the devs try to make sure you know that’s an option.

Don’t get too discouraged by the fact that the first thing you see in the app are recipes you’ll have to pay for since scrolling for a bit will reveal the free ones as well. There aren’t that many of them, but they’ll have to do since they look pretty great and I’m pretty sure they’re actually tasty.

Once you’ve set your mind on one of them, you can tap on it to open and check out the various steps you need to go through to prepare it. You’ll notice a few symbols for each recipe, representing some main qualities. For instance, you can check out which recipes are vegan, naturally sweetened, gluten free or freezable.

Tricks

On the right, you’ll notice the list of ingredients which you can pull over the recipe at any time to check it out. Swiping down over the recipe’s photo will reveal the full nutrition facts per serving, including protein, fat, carbs, vitamins, iron and so on.

The step-by-step instructions can be marked as complete by swiping them to the right. Tapping on the time instructions in any of these steps will launch the egg timer with everything all set. You can just start it up as soon as you want to.

Any recipe can be added to the favorites list, and it can be shared with the world. The ingredients list can be added to the Apple Reminders list as a shopping list or to Buy Me a Pie if you have this app installed.
