Ultra reaction - who is faster? 1.5
Regardless of what category it’s filed under, Ultra reaction is one of the most addictive and fun self-improving apps we’ve seen. It’s got everything it needs and doesn’t cost a dime. The only annoying thing about it is the constant display of ads.
Superb design, slick navigation
To get one thing out of the way, Ultra reaction simply looks stunning. The GUI flows without a hiccup, and there isn’t that doesn’t need to be there. There’s no setup whatsoever, no visual guides, nothing.
You instantly know what to do with it thanks to the clever design, and the color palette in and of itself is just strikingly calm and relaxing. Navigating through the menus is a breeze.
Test your reflexes in three game modes
The purpose of Ultra reaction is to tap emerging squares on a board as rapidly as you can. The square stays there until you tap it, while the app measures your response time in milliseconds, as well as seconds (if you’re that slow).
You get three types of tests - Responsive, Dynamic, and Endless - with four difficulty levels each, making this one accessible to virtually any type of user.
Responsive is the simplest test. You just test your reaction speed an monitor your improvement as you play over and over again. Hit outside the square and the game is over.
Dynamic is the coolest of the three. It forces you to hit as many targets as possible in 30 seconds. Here, you won’t “die” if you hit outside the square, but you will get a penalty. Also, you need to avoid touching the red squares.
Finally, Endless is an endurance test much like Dynamic, only it’s.... well, endless. Some users might actually find this one the most appealing game mode, as it forces you to hit the blue targets before they go away in waves of increasing difficulty.
Game Center connect, pesky ads
One thing I really found annoying about Ultra reaction is the fact that it connects to Game Center automatically, each and every time I launch the app. While this can also be dealt with in the device’s settings, I’d prefer if the developer asked me first.
Another type of pest I found in Ultra reaction was the constant display of ads. Worse still, there’s no option to get rid of them.

Fun and addicting, and a great way to test your reflexes. |
Security7
It connects to Game Center automatically without asking for your permission. |
Battery7
Somewhat drains the battery, but not too much. |

We can’t award it max score simply based on the price tag. The constant display of ads is a price you have to pay, in and of itself. |
