Timehop 3.0.5
Well, the beauty of social media is that it can and it will remember everything you did that day if you chose to make a post, either a status change or added photograph. That’s both useful and creepy at the same time, but it’s a compromise we all make with most social networks.
Meet Timehop
Timehop is an app that hopes to bring back the best moments of your life back to attention. The app takes a look into whatever account you’ll allow it to and surface the content it finds there.
As soon as you launch the app, you’ll have to sign up or to log into your account, if you’ve already used the tool. This can only be done with the Facebook login, which is both efficient and annoying.
You’ll then have to allow the app access to your Camera Roll so it can collect old photos and videos, which will remain private and won’t actually be uploaded to any cloud server. Access can be revoked at any time.
More access means more data
You can also add more accounts to get extra data, including from Twitter, Instagram, Foursquare, Dropbox Photos, and iPhoto.
It will take a while, but Timehop will work to put together your data, organizing it by date. All this information will then be displayed in a nice interface. For instance, you’ll get to compare what you were doing one, two or three years ago on the same day. You’ll also automatically get to see what day of the week it was on those dates, what the weather was like and how many degrees there were outside.
Funny enough, you’ll also admire a cute dinosaur in a certain position, with a cute tidbit. For instance, 11 years ago, Hey Ya! by Outkast was ruling the charts in the United States.
All in all, this is a nice app that will certainly appeal to you if you’re into looking back through your memories quite often.
