Seene 2.0.7
Great introduction
Seene is one of those apps that doesn’t leave anything to chance. Its developers designed it in such a way that by the time you take your first seene you already know how to work the camera. It begins with a brief demo of the app’s capabilities, followed by a video guide, and finally shows you the Seene social network, all without requiring an account or anything. When you’re finally ready to shoot, you’ll find the camera module at the top right corner.
Awesome 3D effect, albeit imperfect
The technology behind Seene is not new, nor is it too complex. Or maybe it is, but it certainly doesn’t appear to be. What it does is look for reference points in your image which it keeps track of as you move the phone around the subject. It takes multiple shots of the subject (without you knowing) and eventually stitches together the different angles.
With the end photo in hand, when you move the phone the app displays the extra angles while also stretching the image a bit, creating a 3D effect that’s far from perfect but still pretty awesome. You can even add some filters on your resulted photos, as well as blur effects and other stuff.
The app works great for any type of subject, including landscapes, pets, even selfies. It takes a steady hand to achieve a good image, so don’t lose hope if your first two seenes suck. It takes a bit of patience to get the hang of it.
Built-in social network, lots of sharing options
Seene has ties with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Message, as well as its own network, and it lets you generate a link for each seene, save as video, or save as GIF. You don’t need to create an account to use the app or browse the network, which is pretty awesome!
The nice thing about Seene is that if you change your mind about a certain photograph you shared, for instance, you can change its privacy setting from public to private without too much trouble. Furthermore, if you don’t like someone who’s too persistent, you can always block them from following your account or commenting on your content.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
Seene has a very fluent interface and a clean design. |
Function7
Seene is easy to understand and easy to use, but the results are sometimes far from perfect. |
Security10
You don’t need to create an account to use it, and it doesn’t affect your privacy in any way. Unless you share irresponsibly, of course. |
Battery7
Normal consumption levels for a photography app. |
Price10
Seene doesn’t require any in-app purchases, doesn’t display any annoying ads and its completely free of charge. |
Compatibility6
Seene requires iOS 7.0 and works only with specific iDevice models. For example, iPhone 4 users cannot take seenes, they can only view them. |
Tip: hold your hand steady as you go around your subject.
