SYS Activity Manager 5.0
We’re not easily convinced, and we make it our job to test these so-called utilities that do your iPhone good.
A bad first impression
You know an app isn’t any good when it greets you with a notification so long that you have to scroll through it to read the whole thing. That, and various redundant tips for saving battery life (i.e. kill apps) and a ringer for when the meter reaches full charge.
Practically doesn't do anything
Okay, so it’s really not that bad, but it’s not very useful either. Basically SYS Activity does nothing to improve your battery life (no app can, by the way), and it doesn’t include any actual utilities. All it does is display a list of running apps and processes as well as various tips on how to improve your usage.
It includes a timer that estimates when your battery will reach full charge, and shows you the Wired, Active, Inactive, and Free memory allocation. Disk usage is also shown by Used and Free space, things you can find out yourself in the device’s settings. The network tab shows you the Internet connections with a few details, also easily obtainable from the iOS Settings app.
What’s more is that the app has a number of glitches that prevent alerts from displaying their text. It advertises other apps by Appsware, encourages disclosure of information on all the social networks you can think of, and recommends a “full” version that doesn’t seem to do anything extra.
The app comes with iOS 8 compatibility, although we're not sure exactly what this will help it with.

Bottom Line
Design / UI6
Using an outdated thick UI, SYS Activity Manager is just clutter on your iPhone. |
Function5
Memory usage, running processes and the countdown charge timer are probably the only things worth your download. |
Security7
Wants to post your device’s information to social networks. |
Battery5
If anything, it will help drain even more juice from your device because in reality it doesn’t do anything but display stuff that you could normally see in the Settings panel. |
Price7
With so many ads and nags to buy other apps, it’s hardly the “free” experience we’d rate high on our chart. |
Compatibility9
iOS 7.0 and up |
You can use it to glance at system processes, but that's just about it.
