Recipe Cloud 2.1.3
The situation stands a bit differently when it comes to browsing for such content on my mobile phone. Even though I use the same browser on my desktop and my phone, I often find myself having a hard time discovering the bookmarks made on either devices or I just save it to another folder and forget about it. Any impulsive bookmarker will know that among the hundreds of saved links, it’s sometimes difficult to find something in particular.
How about the cloud?
Enter Recipe Cloud, an iOS app that wants to play the role of a bookmark tool and more. The social cook book allows users to check out what other fellow cooks are planning on making. You’ll have to make sure to log into an account and you can even search for people you know.
The app allows you to also explore a series of recipes. They’re not exactly well-organized and you may find it a bit difficult to locate things you’ll like, but it’s best to just browse the pages anyway and see if anything catches your eye.
Once you open a recipe, you’ll find how much it will take you to put together the dish. You can then scroll to the ingredients list and check out the directions. A button above will allow you to save the recipe to your account.
Save or add recipes
In the “My Recipes” folder, you’ll discover both dishes you’ve liked and those you’ve added yourself. Talking of which, you can do this by either adding a recipe manually or just copy/paste a URL. When creating a recipe, you can add a photo, put in a title, type in the active time and total time, scribble some notes, the ingredients list and the directions and save it.
In this manner, you’ll always have access to the recipes you like anytime, without losing them.
All in all, Recipe Cloud is a nice app that you can certainly find a good use for, such as when trying to put together a nice surprise dinner.
