Memoir 2.2.2

Memoir surfaces your memories, highlights the fun times you've had
Keeping track of everything that happens in your life is not as easy as it may seem. Thankfully, nowadays we have smartphones, which we constantly use to take pictures of ourselves, our friends, family and loved ones, or the places we visit that leave an impression on us.

Memoir is an iOS app that seeks to help you relive some of these memories and share them with friends and family if you so desire.

In order to use the app, you need to set up an account. You can either sign up with an email address or use the Facebook social loginfeature, with the app promising to never post to your wall without your explicit permission.

Connect everything

You’ll also have to connect your camera roll to the app, so it can scour through your photographs. Since this is obviously a privacy concern, Memoir says that everything is 100 percent private and that you’re the only one who can see the photographs. The app also gives you the opportunity to connect your locations to remember the places you’ve been.

If you want, you can add more sources than your camera roll so that the app collects more of your memories. It can look through your Desktop Photos, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Dropbox, Swarm and, soon, Tumblr.

The more sources you add to the mix, the more the app is going to take to create your Memoir. The app says that it can take up to a couple of hours, but it took about half hour to go through a bunch of photos in the Camera Roll.

Check out your past

Once the job is done, you’ll get a walk through memory lane, with the app surfacing pictures from a year ago, but also from two, three and four years ago. Obviously, the more sources you use, the more chances you’ll have to actually get more than a blank space. At the very least, when it has nothing to show you, the app slaps on a funny line.

The app can display your memories, your recent entries, or things that happened nearby from your current location.

Memoir won’t just surface your cool moments, but it also allows you to create your own moments by adding a photo, a place and some text about what’s going on and your thoughts on the event.
